Dermal Fillers Bellevue

Dermal Fillers Bellevue

As you age, you may notice lost facial volume and fine lines and wrinkles. That’s where dermal fillers come in. With dermal fillers, you can resolve these issues quickly and effectively, taking years off your face without surgery or downtime. Here at Pacific Sound Plastic Surgery, we’re pleased to offer dermal fillers for men and women in Bellevue and the surrounding area.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are specifically formulated to treat volume loss, diminish signs of facial aging, improve symmetry, and plump and contour the skin. They contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your body that you slowly lose during the natural process of aging.

Dermal fillers restore hyaluronic acid and allow you to add volume to your skin and maintain moisture so you can enjoy a youthful appearance. While there are many FDA-approved dermal fillers on the market, we prefer to use the Juvederm family of fillers at Pacific Sound Plastic Surgery.

Good Candidates for Dermal Fillers

If any of the following apply to you, dermal fillers are worth considering.

  • You’d like to look younger without surgery.
  • You hope to restore lost facial volume.
  • You want to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
  • You wish to plump your lips

You should be in reasonably good health and committed to maintaining an effective skincare routine. Depending on your situation, Dr. Kris Day may recommend surgical intervention, such as a lip lift or fat grafting, instead of a dermal filler for more permanent, long-term results.

What to Expect
During Your Dermal Filler Procedure?

At Pacific Sound Plastic Surgery in Bellevue, we will customize your dermal filler treatment to help you meet your unique goals. To start, your plastic surgeon Dr. Kris Day will apply a topical numbing cream that will allow for optimal safety and comfort. Then, he’ll use a cannula, a round-tipped, blunt tool instead of a needle to administer the dermal filler in the ideal areas. This will reduce the risk of bruising and swelling and allow for beautiful, natural results in no time. The entire procedure will take around 20-30 minutes.

Recovering From Dermal Fillers

Unlike many other anti-aging treatments that involve surgery, dermal fillers come with virtually no downtime. If you do experience side effects like redness, bruising, and swelling at the injection sites, rest assured they should quickly resolve on their own. You may resume your everyday activities right after you receive the dermal fillers. We do recommend that you avoid sun exposure for up to 24 hours after the procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dermal Fillers

Yes. Dermal fillers like Juvederm are FDA-approved. They can give you a youthful appearance and restore a loss of volume without the high risks of surgery.

Most patients report minimal to no discomfort due to the topical numbing cream and cannula used during the treatment. Dr. Day also uses distraction and can take pauses at any time.

The longevity of the fillers depends on factors like the type of filler chosen, areas of injection, and your lifestyle. In general, however, they last between 3 months to up to 2 years.

There is no ideal age for dermal filler treatment. While some patients visit us in their 20s, others wait until they’re older and in their 50s or 60s.

While dermal fillers are formulated to fill in wrinkles caused by collagen and volume loss, Botox is used to treat dynamic wrinkles, which are the result of repetitive facial movements like smiling and frowning.
