Vaginal Rejuvenation Bellevue

As women go through childbirth and the natural process of aging, they may notice changes in the look and function of their vaginas. They might experience vaginal looseness, less sensation and sensitivity, vaginal dryness, and weakened vaginal muscles. They may also face a decreased level of sexual desire or self-confidence.

If you are coping with any of these issues, vaginal rejuvenation may be worthwhile as it can safely and effectively rejuvenate the vaginal area. Here at Pacific Sound Plastic Surgery, we offer vaginal rejuvenation surgery to women in Seattle surrounding area. Board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Kris Day, is committed to delivering his clients results that not only improve their physical appearance but also their quality of life.

What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Vaginal rejuvenation is a broad-spectrum term for a variety of different surgical and nonsurgical procedures that help to restore the anatomy and sexual function of the vagina. While each vaginal rejuvenation procedure is unique, it usually involves the tightening of external labia skin that has become stretched or torn, which can help with appearance, vaginal dryness, chafing, pain, and sometimes even incontinence. Vaginal rejuvenation procedures are typically outpatient, minimally invasive, and have little to no downtime for patients.

Good Candidates for Vaginal Rejuvenation

You might benefit from vaginal rejuvenation procedures if:

  • You would like to improve your sexual desire or self-esteem.
  • You are bothered by a loose vagina.
  • You experience pain or discomfort when you sit, exercise, wear tight clothing, or engage in sexual intercourse.
  • You would like to resolve urinary dryness or incontinence.
  • You hope to increase sensation during sex.
  • You seek to combat menopausal problems related to your vagina.

What to Expect From a Vaginal Rejuvenation Procedure

Here at Pacific Sound Plastic Surgery in Bellevue, we are pleased to offer two different surgical labiaplasty procedures for vaginal rejuvenation. A labiaplasty aims to decrease the size of one labia or the vagina’s “lips”, while a vaginoplasty is to tighten or repair the vaginal canal. There are two main types of labiaplasty. Your board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Kris Day, is extremely experienced in these two vaginal rejuvenation procedures.

One of the techniques Dr. Day utilizes is the wedge technique. The wedge technique involves removing a v-shaped section from the center of the labia and removing the excess before stitching the labia back together
from the inside out. This technique is suitable for women with large or asymmetrical labia, which can sometimes result after childbirth.

The straight incisional technique is when Dr. Day makes a straight
incision to remove the excess tissue from the external labia and then stitches the incision closed. This technique is beneficial for most women dealing with a labial enlargement that is symmetrical and interferes with sexual activity, exercise or impairs self-confidence.

After vaginal rejuvenation surgery in Bellevue, you can expect a tighter vagina, increased sexual desire, and performance, reduced pain from friction, increased confidence and self-esteem, improvement in vaginal
dryness and sometimes decreased incontinence.

Recovering From Vaginal Rejuvenation

Following vaginal rejuvenation, you may notice temporary bruising, swelling, and tenderness in the vaginal area. As you recover, these symptoms should resolve on their own, but you can manage any discomfort with oral pain medication. You may be able to resume work and other daily activities within a few days but should avoid vigorous activity and sexual intercourse for at least four weeks so that your incisions can heal properly.

Frequently Asked Questions About Vaginal Rejuvenation

Childbirth often causes vaginal laxity. Factors like genetics, baby size, birth circumstances, and number of deliveries will affect how much vaginal laxity you will experience. Fortunately, vaginal rejuvenation can help resolve vaginal laxity.

Since our vaginal rejuvenation procedures are performed under general anesthesia, you should not experience any pain or discomfort during the procedure. If you do face any pain or discomfort afterward, pain medication can help.

Once you complete the recovery process, you can expect greater pleasure and satisfaction during sex. Note that you should wait at least four weeks before engaging in sexual activity, as doing so too soon can disrupt the healing process or interfere with the results of your surgery.

The results of vaginal rejuvenation are usually permanent. While factors such as age and hormonal changes may cause some laxity to reappear, you should experience much firmer tissues in this area than you had prior to surgery.
