Step 2 — Surgical Planning & Virtual Simulation

Using your CT imaging, Dr. Day plans your procedure in detail before surgery day. For complex cases, he uses Virtual Surgical Planning — computerized 3D simulation of the planned bone contour — to refine the surgical approach and improve the predictability of your result. Step 3 — Surgery

Brow bone reduction is performed under general anesthesia. When scalp advancement is part of the surgical plan, Dr. Day uses a pre-trichial incision — placed just in front of the hairline so the closure is concealed within the anterior hairline. When scalp advancement is not part of the plan, a coronal incision (placed within the hair-bearing scalp) may be used; this is hidden by surrounding hair. Surgery takes approximately 3 hours. Most patients stay overnight in the hospital for optimal pain control, though some are discharged the same day.
